What the low price trades away
A cheap program usually means one of the following: a small size (payouts in tens of dollars), more phases (Bootcamp is 3 steps), tighter drawdowns (Maven's 3-Step runs a 3% max), or futures trailing rules. Each of these is a trade-off rather than a defect. The programs table shows which one the trader is accepting, and sorting by price and reading the drawdown column makes it visible.
A small-budget approach
Traders can buy the smallest account at a firm whose rules they intend to keep long term, treat it as paid education, and only scale to $50-100K after passing once. A $20 challenge failed teaches the same lesson as a $500 one. The pattern to avoid is repeated impulsive re-buys. Five impulsive $30 challenges cost more than one deliberate $95 Bootcamp with three months of patience behind it.
All current sub-$100 deals are on the discounts page. The expected cost to funded for a trader's statistics can be checked in the simulator before paying even $12.
