Topstep restricts trading around Tier 1 news releases

Topstep now restricts trading in a 10-minute window around four Tier 1 news releases. The window opens five minutes before the release and closes five minutes after it.

• The covered releases are CPI, the FOMC rate decision, the FOMC press conference and Non-Farm Payrolls.
• Traders cannot open new mini contract positions in index and metals markets during the window.
• Micro contracts stay open to trading, with a cap of 1 to 15 contracts by account size.
• Energies, interest rates and FX are not affected.

The rule applies to Trading Combines and Express Funded accounts. Topstep previously placed no news restriction on these accounts.
